Sarah is an aspiring emergency medicine physician currently in her final year of medical school at Touro COM in NYC. Prior to medical school, Sarah worked at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute using CRISPR Genome Editing Technology to create novel cell lines.
She pursued a Master’s degree in biology and graduated in May of 2017 after having completed her undergraduate degree at Brandeis University in 2014 studying biology, and the intersection anthropology has with science and medicine. Sarah hopes to continue to explore this subject and one day be able to apply this as a practicing doctor.
Behind Our Heroes-NYC is a project Sarah started with a friend, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in which money was fundraised and PPE collected for hospital workers. It evolved into providing meals as well, providing grocery assistance for people who couldn’t make it themselves, online tutoring for the kids of hospital workers, and greeting cards to patients and healthcare workers encouraging them to keep going and stay hopeful.
